Exploding cigar trick
...or why I now carry my travel humi in a cooler.
I went offshore a while back and of course took plenty of sticks for the trip. I opened up my little humi to remove my first smoke while inside an air conditioned building - No problem so far. Later on I had a chance for a break but this time my location was more remote with no air conditioned building. I noticed the little hygrometer on my humi jump up to +95% Well I did not pay it much mind at the time. I then had to leave my humi in the helicopter for a while and the cabin temperature must have got up well over 100 degrees. I would guess they were like this for about three hours. Needless to say, that evening back onshore when I was going to settle back with a nice drink and have another smoke, I got a big suprize. The wrappers literally blew apart when I tried to smoke the cigars Live and learn. Now I carry my humi in a collapsible cooler with one of those blue ice blocks - problem solved. |
