In theory, a thin serrated blade should "saw" through without crushing the cigar - just like a loaf of bread. As Dr. Evil suggested, treat the "new head" with pectin (fruit sugar paste) to keep it from unraveling.
If you play golf anything like I do, it takes at least one 7x54 cigar to complete 18 holes.
