I've found that to successfully smoke most tinned MacBaren tobacco, once the tin is opened, the tobacco must be removed, lightly tossed about, to separate the tobacco from its tight packing, allowed to dry for a day or two then placed in a storage container without packing it as tightly as it came in the tin. I usually repack the original tin and place the rest in a small glass jar.
