Humidifier Questions / Suggestions

A few days ago I was able to obtain a J.C. Pendergast cabinet for a bargain price. Cabinet style CA-2448. It is 24w-48h-18d.

The unit has two shelves and large drawer on the top portion. Bottom portion has it's own door, that contains the humidification unit - that is connected to the A/C outlet that is wired to the Pendergast Humidistat up top. It holds perfect R/H and the unit rarely kicks on. The problem is the humidifier is huge with big 2-gallon resevoir and takes up 85-90% of the space down below. I would like to use that area for some extra box storage.

Can anyone recommend a smaller unit that would work the same? Or since that fan is pulling the air up from the bottom, should I not be storing any of my cigars down there? Thanks in advance for any advice.
