Cool Score!
Two sweet gifts from my dad today. Every now and again he passes me down some bit of cigar paraphanalia or another. He doesn't really smoke any more so as this stuff turns up he just passes it along.
Today's Score #1: This excellent Antique H. Upman Jar Humi Score #2: My Grandfather's Humidor! It's hammered copper over unknown wood. The inside is lined with tin, like they used to do. Good seal still, too. I have no idea how old it is, but my grandfater died before 1940. I'm going to be rehabing this one over the next couple of weeks. There were some very old cigars inside: a couple of Santa Rosas and a bunch of loose unbanded cigars, some wrapped in tinfoil. Pretty much all useless, but I'm doing the slow rehydration thing on a couple just for kicks. The San Miguel cigarillos are from the Canary Islands. They are still in their celos. The seal had never been broken. And there was a small, gold plated v-cutter inside too.
