Having long been quite the fan of the Avo XO series, it occurred to me when browsing the tobacconist this morning that I had yet to try this particular beauty. So, I picked one up to rectify that immediately!
A 50 ring and 5.5 inches in length, the wrapper was gorgeous. The roll was very firm, such that I almost feared it might be plugged. I plowed ahead, clipped the end, and fired it up. No plugs here! Draw was excellent, and it produced a generous volume of smoke. The ash was almost white and very firm, holding on for a solid 3 inches before dropping off on its own. Burn was perfect. The first inch was a bit disappointing - mild and slightly leathery, and generally uninteresting. Then spice began to creep in, and after an inch-and-a-half, it was nicely flavorful - no bitterness, and a good bit of tongue-tingling spice. Strength built smoothly throughout, ending at a decent medium level. I can certainly recommend the Intermezzo - will be picking up more ASAP myself! Once it got started, it was absolutely fantastic - my love affair with Avos continues....
