Gouden Carolus Noel Belgian Ale
This is an amazing example of Belgian brewing. This dark, caramel brown nectar teases the nostrils with clove, dates, chocolate...something different with every whiff. The complex flavors follow the aroma with cherries, vanilla, some woodiness, and warming alcohol notes. It has a pleasantly smooth mouthfeel and a gentle bitter finish. 10%abv
OK, truth is I didn't write this review, but it's spot on. This is one of the best beers I've ever had and an excellent accompaniment to a fine cigar. An excellent holiday ale if you can find it...well worth seeking and excellent with a Cohiba or a mature SP Corona Gigante.
