Before he went internet, I believe that Thompson's and finck were the only significant mail order dealers, and neither of them achieved much.

I say that based on one thing, these two dealers were the ones who had nationwide, mainstream presence, rather than only limited reach. They were the only cigar dealers that I ever encountered in my daily life.

As far as I can tell Lew started the first or one of the first .com sites.
