Translations (mostly from asp):

Balkan mixture = A blend of Virginia and Oriental tobaccos where the Orientals account for more than 50% of the total by weight.

Stoved = Stoving is literally a cooking process used on Virginia tobacco to alter its taste and aroma. Stoving will eventually turn the tobacco a black color.

Eastern and Middle Belt strip = Middle Belt refers to tobaccos produced principally in the Piedmont sections of Virginia and North Carolina. Eastern Belt refers to tobaccos produced primarily in the coastal section of North Carolina, north of the South River.

Lemon Carolina
= A grade of Virginia tobacco grown in North Carolina. It generally has a zesty and sharp taste when compared to other Virginias grades (orange, red, etc)

Greek Oriental = Tobacco grown in and around the town of Xanthe in western Thrace, Greece. This is one of the most important growing areas for Greek oriental tobaccos, containing many famous subdistricts. The tobaccos from the latter (subdistricts) which are manipulated individually, often used to be marketed under their own names, preceded by the name Xanthe. Their common features are a strong, full, sweetish flavor, a distinct, tangy aroma, and small, Basma-type leaves. The individual subdistricts differ according to whether they are Yaka, Djebel, or Ova tobaccos. There follows individual entries for the several tobaccos:
-Xanthe-Basma; leaf of good quality, but not quite as aromatic or flavorful as Xanthe-Yaka-Basma
-Xanthe-Djebel-Basma; flavor is mild sweet and aromatic. Leaf is thin, tender and golden-yellow
-Xanthe-Karshi-Yaka-Basma; flavor is less full and aromatic, but fresh and sweet.
-Xanthe-Ova-Basma; leaves are larger and coarser and have little aroma.
-Xanthe-Sovan-Yaka; flavor is somewhat harsh. Rarely manipulated on it's own, it is blended with other Xanthe types
-Xanthe-Suyalessi-Basma; leaf is small, but brighter and less rich in content, it's flavor is distinctive and pleasant. Sometimes incorrectly described as Xanthe-Djebel.
-Xanthe-Yak-Basma; thin, full bodies, flexible leaf with very fine veins. color is yellow-brown and the aroma pleasant, sweet and fresh. It is one of the best aromatic tobaccos.
