The only McCranies Red Ribbon I've had was the batch from the 1983 crop of Red Virgina that was tinned in 1999/2000. Very good stuff, but sold out long ago.
The current batch is from a 1996 crop tinned in 2004. Not sure I'd say it's twice as good as 5100 (based on price) ... but definately worth trying.
