Calypso meat loaf, bacon wrapped asparagus and garlic and herb Yukon gold fingerling potatoes. K is going to call in tomorrow with a stomach bug, so looks like a batch of chicken soup in on the menu for tomorrow.

chicken thighs pan roasted with rice vinegar herbs and orange zest

mashed potatoes (mashed, not whipped, I realized why I don't like my mom's potatoes...)

Cabbage braised in ham stock then browned with butter

White granacha (Terra Alta Spain)

Went to see Downton Abbey this afternoon with my Bride, my middle daughter and Grandpa. I enjoyed the TV series as well as the movie today. I could have done without the alternative lifestyle portion of the movie but such is present day entertainment.

Anyway, post movie we went to Firebirds a wood fired grill serving hand-cut steaks and fresh seafood. I had their american kobe beef meatloaf with a portabella mushroom sauce, spiced pecan green beans and a baked potato. It was delicious.

You certainly had a better day than our Redskins.

I'm so done with our Skins utterly dysfunctional front office. I have never been a baseball fan but started watching the Nats this year and man was it exciting. Maybe it's time for me to move on to a different sport.

Baseball and Football have always been my primary sports. I also watch some College Basketball, but only when Syracuse is playing.

This year I watched more Yankees games than I probably did in the last 10 years combined. I also watched each game of the World Series, despite having said I was done for the season after the Yankees lost the ALCS.

I think I got burned out on Football the last few years. I had the Redzone and basically spent all day on Sundays glued to the TV watching Football, plus Monday and Thursday nights. This year I have not watched one game. Not one. I'm just not interested.

I can't knock KFC unless there's a Popeyes within shouting distance. KFC Nashville Hot Wings are pretty good, but calling them hot is a pretty big stretch. I've had oatmeal that was spicier.
