xikar worth it?
I can get a xikar cutter for $19 shipped, i think its an xi2. I normally use a cheap guillotine cutter and routineley(sp?) cause the wrapper to unwravel where I cut it from. I have maybe 1 cigar a week and Im wondering if this would be a good investment?

it's a tossup; depends on how you feel about your cigar smoking...
Yes - if you smoke more than 2 a week, it's nice to have a quality tool to cut your nice cigars with. No - cheepo cutters still cut the same enough to get the smoke out, just like a xikar; and if you lose it, big deal... same can be said for lighters... |

Personally, I love Xikar cutters. Yes, I have others and even sometimes use my cheap $4.95 double blade. But, when I care about what I am doing I use the Xikar. And when I am going out for a nice night out that will end at the cigar bar, the Xikar goes in my pocket.
They also stand behind their products and will repair it and/or sharpen it whenever needed for life. That means something. People who stand behind their work move up a notch or two in my book. |

Definately what carnellm said. While I use my cheapies for around the garage, if I'm going out to someplace nice or to the shop, I always take my Xikar, particularly when I plan on smoking some of my nicer cigars.

I own the xikar with the redwood handles. I love the design and the cut is superb. I always used a cheapo until now. what good is a $10 cigar if your 2 dollar cutter ruins it. Another nice cutter is the SAK.... i like the cut of it even more, but went with the xi3 in redwoon causei like the look better!

If you don't want it, send it my way. Mine was $30, and I love it to death.

Too bad. You'll just end up with a Palio eventually anyway
