CAUTION: Exotic Woods

Just a quick postscript. After approximately 2 weeks of working on my Morado wood (aka Bolivian rosewood) humidor, I developed the most God-awful rash on my forearms as well as on my neck and portions of my face. A quick trip to the Chief of Dermatology confirmed my worst suspicions - exotic wood contact dermatitis (from sawdust settling on exposed skin areas). Not such a big deal, except the doctor advised me to be careful in future in order to avoid a potentially greater reaction (i.e. respiratory, etc.). So the motto is: Be cautious when working with materials from far-away or unknown environs. Gloves and a mask may appear overly surgical during carpentry sessions, but they work!
