Depending on how much your temperatue varies inyour house, you might want to insulate the piece of furniture first with 1/2" styrofoam insulation sheets. These can be had at your local home improvement store for a low cost.
Make sure if that you use a glue that it does not have an odor to it at all. If it smells wet, then in all likelihood it will smell when dry, you just may not realize it until seveeral months down the road when the spanish cedar odor mellows a bit and your cigars pick up that smell. Also, make sure you seal the doors, drawers, etc.. so you have a snug seal. Good luck!
