41 year old Canadian Club

Now available at $269 a bottle. I will likely pass.

I never cared for regular CC. No way I'm shelling out that kind of cabbage.

Aged in barrels that long I suppose?

I believe aging statements refer to time prior to bottling. Some wine ages in concrete and stainless steel. whiskey is usually in barrels of one kind or another depending on the whiskey.

the CC ages in oak

It seems to be garnering generally positive reviews (as did the 40-year old release). Not too oak-laden for such a venerable whisky, either. But, as stated, the price is a sticking point.

well I did take a bottle that had 1961 on it's seal from my parents and cracked it open on my 50th BDay in 2011. It was SMOOTH, albeit bottle aged lol.

I have a bottle of 1958 Schenley tucked away for my 65th birthday. I guess you could argue it is 1954 since its 4 year old Whiskey

Some of those 'old' Canadians can be delicious. I've sampled some very tasty Crown Royal from the 1950s as well as a superb Schenley 15 Year Old Order of Merit distilled in 1952 and bottled in 1967.
