EDIT: Instead of one week, as posted below, I'm ending the contest early because of the overwhelming response...I'm not sure I can only pick five...we'll see what happens.

Some usernames I can understand right away, some variation of your real name. Others, I have no idea. So, I'm holding a random contest. This should make up for my 200th and 300th post, I guess.

Tell me how you came up with your username. I will pick the top five stories and hold a poll. Winner gets some prizes and I'll try to cater to your likes. We'll run this for one week for people to submit their stories.

For example, my username debaire. When I was in high school, all of my friends and I went to a camp...calculus camp. I know what you're thinking, calculus camp? That's nerdy...well, it was. But we all passed our calculus AP exams. More importantly, we had the time of our lives. When was the last time you and ALL your high school friends and acquaintances go away for camp? Sure we studied, but we also did a lot of other activities.

One of those activities was a park ranger taking us out in the woods one night and helping us to understand how nocturnal animals have large ears that are slightly cupped. This allows them to hear better. So half of us hid while the others tried to hear the ones hiding by cupping their hands around their ears. One of my friends yells, "Is that Steve Kang or is that a bear!?" Well, from that point on, everyone at school started calling me bear.

When it came time for graduation, I wrote Steve Debaire Kang (Steve The Bear Kang) on the notecard to be read as I walked across to receive my diploma. Since then, it's been my handle.


So...obviously your story doesn't need to be this long, and maybe it should be more interesting ...but take a crack!
