Alabama Smoking Ban

From Glynn Loope and the CRA
Quote:
Cigar Rights of America
No statewide smoking ban in Alabama for 2012! Voices of Liberty prevail in Montgomery! But keep your eye on Alabama Senator Vivian Figures. She'll be back with another bill in 2013...
We need to be vigilant.

Yes we do.

Glynn mentions the state senator behind the potential ban. As is typical, these movements are driven by one or a small group of zealots who won't give up.

why would they ever give up? They have all the free money in the world to "fight the good fight." We pay them a salary, they have perdiem, they have paid mail and printing, as well as email and computer time. they can simply spend themselves silly at the expense of those who are opposing them, while their enemies spend themselves into bankruptcy, and EVENTUALLY, the assholes will prevail.

How can you beat an opponent who will never give up, can muster financial resources that dwarf the war chests of the opposition, and who can hire PR groups and assistants, as well as dragging other knuckle dragging zealots into the fray?

We could always vote them out, but jeeze, there are so many other more important reasons to keep them in office, such as opposition to gay marriage, and sometimes, you can't afford to put an even bigger idiot in office just to punish and remove an anti tobacco moron.

I think we do. If cigars make up 80% of our business you can allow smoking. The clubs had 30 days to comply which those days are probably passed. One club that I play is the smokiest place I ever been in, like a haven for smokers. I am real curious who that is going to be without smoking.

Place I played Saturday night allowed smoking indoors...? Maybe it's not the entire state OR the 30 days have not passed

You can be vigilant, protest all you want but THE WIVES are involved - so you might as well accept it, THEY WIN.
