Ok, Otterboxes are officially...
The bomb.
After spending more time picking out my cigars for the camping trip than packing for it on Friday, I took an Edge, Casa Toraño, Short Story (for the girlfriend), a 1916, and a Macanudo and put 'em in the Otterbox. I then put them in the cooler with the food, since temps were going to be in the 90's. Camping was great, the 1916 was terrific, great time had by all. Only got to smoke that one. I got home, lugged the cooler upstairs to my apartment, and opened it. The otterbox was completely submerged in melted ice water underneath all of the food and beer my gf had inadvertenly packed while getting ready to leave. It had been that way for about three hours. I figured this would be the test. Otterbox says they're waterproof and crushproof, and now I was about to find out. I wiped it off, opened up the latches, and slowly opened the lid to find the cigars were... Perfectly dry. Freezing cold, but perfectly dry! I was so stoked! So there you have it, they really do work and are waterproof. PHEW! |
