Just got an email from these folks and thought I'd give you a heads up. Best price I've ever seen on these:

I was wondering the same thing. I was assuming that the Xi2 was the new model, but that probably isn't right.

I believe one is metal and the other some type of composite.

Yes, no, no, no. The Xi is the original model and consists of a metal body. You can also get it decorated with Rosewood handles also.
The Xi2 is a "lower end" model that uses composites in the body instead. Both have self sharpening blades. I don't like them and have never had any luck with them, but many seem to like them. |

I just love that X1 I got from mhotek last month! I've not heard really good things about the composite ones, but my all metal one works just great!

I bought mine about a month ago from CigarKing . . . I got the Xi and I like it. I played with Bob Thomas's Xi2, and like him, I didn't like it. It would stick, I am assuming due to the composite it's made of.

They all stick once in a while.
They also had a poured stainless model but had serious production problems and pulled it. I thought the rosewood handle one was a variation on the poured stainless model but not really sure. I still like it but prefer my Palio as it's sharper. |

I have one and my $10 double cutter is far better.
