Want to replace my humidor and lighter
Hi again, everybody. The siren song led me away from exploring cigars and visiting CW a couple of years ago. I've been stagnating with a few cheap bundles, but I want to start getting active again.
My desktop humidor is no longer holding humidity and needs to be replaced. I don't want to spend a lot, but I'd prefer not to get one of the Chinese-made humidors that have flooded the market. Any suggestions? I see Diamond Crown now has a couple of more traditional models that don't look like jewelry boxes. What's the word on Diamond Crown's quality these days? What do you know about Craftsman's Bench? Last I remember on these forums, Vector lighters were highly recommended. Has that changed? |

Lighter - Zippo + Z-Plus Insert or Xikar.
I personally love my colibri lighter, but lots of members here hate them so i'll refrain from suggesting it.

If you're in the market of stepping up a bit on the humidor end, perhaps checking out a Daniel Marshall Private Stock Humidor (supposed to be slightly blemished on the finish, but I honestly can't tell the difference between them and a new one) might suit your needs. Its made in the US, and for $200-$400, its going to beat down the Diamond Crown in quality. You can call them direct and ask for Doug, I must've placed at least a dozen orders through him for friends/family/colleagues/etc..

FWIW, I have a Craftmen's Bench cigar case that I really like, as it is very well-constructed. I have never examined one of their humidors, though.
There are lots of threads on good, inexpensive lighters. |
