The Kid retires...
Ken Griffey Jr, announced retirement yesterday.
A sad day for baseball. My brother called him the best player of the 90s, the most injured player since. He was the guy that should have gotten the career HR record, not "barry the Cheater". Good Luck to Jr.

He had a good, long career. Best to him.

I wish he had announced his retirement at the end of the season. As a baseball fan near an American League park, I would have made a trip to the ball park to see him one more time before he retired. We have a series with Seattle next week.
As it is, I did get to see Junior play (DH) earlier this season, April 11th. Even managed to get a few iPhone snaps of him at first base. (Yes, he actually got on base).

Yup. Swing softly, let the momentum carry the bat around and just lay it on the ground and watch that ball fly into the stands in right field.
Sorry for what this is going to do to peoples' lag.

Was a beast in his prime.
Fucker's only big hit of year cost me a bunch of money. lol Bottom of 9th game winner last month vs. Toronto. Also had Cinnci the same day when they blew a 6 run lead in bottom of 9th to Atlanta. 2 brutal bad beats. Oh and Lincecum in 1st 5 innings bet at AZ. Up 2-0 in 5th and gives up a 5 spot in bottom of 5th. 3 defeats in 1 day snatched in last at bat. Gotta love it. |
