Wrapper Tobacco

I read on another thread about wrapper tobacco being grown where cigarette tobacco is grown. This started me thinking . Where are the different regions where wrapper leaf is grown and how does the soil affect the taste of the wrapper? If you grow say, a maduro wrapper in Hondurous and one in the Dominican Republic how are they different? Or even how are they different within acountry itself? I've never really thought about it before. Maybe that's why I like some maduro cigars better than others.
