Houston Nutt: Undefeated as an Ole Miss Coach
And he says this is the easy part. That's it's easy to be upbeat when you're undefeated. That he realizes he's in the honeymoon period. However, he also knows he's ready to roll up his sleeves and go to work.
A couple of comments he made, that I really like. (paraphrasing). He was going to use whatever type of offense that utilized the players he had. IOW, not force a particular offense on players. Like when he said they passed a lot with Clint Stoener, but less so with Matt Jones. Adaptable. Another thing he said, was college football should be fun. If players are having fun, and enjoying playing....that will lead to more wins. I agree. I just hope other Ole Miss fans realize Nutt isn't going to win a NC at Ole Miss next year (or if..EVER) and probably not going to win an SEC championship, though that may be possible in a few years. One thing I keep hearing is, we want Ole Miss to be competitive in the SEC. I think that's a big enough goal for now. BTW, Nutt gives no timetable for winning or turning things around. No big promises...etc. I think Ole Miss made a good hire. This time.
