Connie #9 M
I was thinking about trying another bundle, but in the first bundle I got there was a huge color variation. They went from almost Maduro to almost natural in color. But most were really light. Is this just the way it is with maddies?

Yep! Connies are seconds, and still one of the best values around IMO.

First off, buy 'em; don't worry about the color variation. Connies are one of the best values out there, period. They are seconds, but they still have the same tobacco as firsts. Usually the thing that makes them seconds is something minor, like slight tear, bumps or ridges, or color imperfection. Who gives a flying mouse hair??!!!!!! They taste great!

I did realize going into them that they were seconds and that there would be color variation. I do like Punch Rothchilds in Maduro, but I think only three of them were even close to the real deal IMHO.

I don't smoke many robustos, but the 16M toros that I've smoked have had consistently dark wrappers.

To repeat the old axiom....Connies are a crap shoot.
If you get good ones, they can be really good. If you don't, they can be yard 'gars. I've been lucky, I guess. Only one bundle has been substantially sub-par. The rest have been

Colour variation is one of the reasons they are seconds.

I've had pretty good luck with the 9m's.........I usually don't buy them in bulk, I figure if they happen to be bad, I'm gonna get a lot of crap if I order several bundles at the same time.
My favs are the 723's (72 M's)......never had a bad bundle!!!
