Saw Willie Nelson Sunday night

saw Willie Nelson in a 1300 capacity club Sunday night - my wife made the comment if that's what weed and whiskey does for you at 81 then we all need to partake. Very good show, a lot of energy from an 81 year old. I have seen countless younger folks with less energy. Very good

Very cool. Is it true that he has cut off the hair and shaved?

The guy's pretty amazing. And his musical phrasing is both unique and accomplished.

I'd love to see him in a small venue like that.

He's says Django influenced his guitar style which I think contributes to that phrasing although he does not play in a django style of course- very unique phrasing vocally and musically. His son was on electric guitar but basically just stayed out of Willie's way . He took a few short decent solos but it was mostly Willie playing with everything he had, he played hard. He looked tired but it was obvious he was enjoying himself. Smaller 'family' band with sister on piano, drummer with just a snare, stand up bass, the great Micky Rapheal on harmonica

No he has not cut his hair or shaved

place was packed solid sold out every generation was represented he appeals to a really wide demographic

he signed a lot of autographs, shook a lot of hands before he left the stage, throwing bandanas to the audience....etc

Sounds like a great evening. He and Lyle Lovette are two I'd love to see.

Seen lyle lovett at least 4 times. Always an outstanding show one of my favorites.

Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt are two that I do not miss if they are nearby

Have you heard Willie's cover of the Coldplay song, The Scientist?

Frankly, I think it's a great improvement over the original.

Kind of like when Johnny Cash did his cover of "Hurt"

Willie puts his own stamp on this song. I honestly don't care much for the Coldplay version, but I bought Willies version. I like it that much. First time I heard it was at the end of the movie, "The Judge"

This particular song is from his album, Heroes.
