Any of you all using these in your desktops? If so, let's hear feedback, good or bad...........

I've used them. Distilled water only, 70% RH, kinda bulky. They work okay. But I moved onto beads a couple years ago. I prefer the beads.

I bought one for a small (30-40 count) humidor. Initially, I didn't care for it as it always seemed too dry. I saw a post somewhere that recommended soaking these for ten minutes in distilled water. When I did that, it turned in to a great little element.

Could be the directions mentioned this. I doubt I read them.

Directions call for a 5 minute soak. They do tend to dry up fast.

Used these before I went to Oasis and beads (65%) and when allowed to soak as specified, they were rock steady at 70%.

The friend I gave them to, still uses them with no problem...

I use the tiny travel size in one of my traveldors and it works great. The best compact humidifier IMO.

I didn't much care for mine (rated for 125 cigar count) but when I went to beads I threw out the insert, screened off the ends and fillled it with beads so now it works like a charm. A bit more classy and pricey than the cheesecloth bag I had the gf do up for me for the rest of the beads.

before switching to cabinets, i had used them in my desktops with good results. while they are designed to maintain 70% humidity, you can cover up a portion of the vents with some electrical tape to bring the humidity level down. If you are having trouble keeping the humidity level high enough, you can remove one or both endcaps too boost the humidity level.
