If your pipe develops a tight draw...

... it is probably a plugged up draft hole in the pipe. The pipe I am smoking tonight has developed a tight draw. I checked the draft hole with a flashlight and the draft hole was plugged up with residue usually from pipe tobacco casings and toppings.

I used a 3/32 drill bit and carefully scraped out the residue, opening up the draft hole, and making an easy draw. Pipe is now ready for good smoking.
