RIP Andy Fletcher

Depeche Mode keyboardist who replaced Vince Clarke when he departed DM after their first album to found Yazoo with Alison Moyet and Erasure. Fletcher was a large contributor to many of DM's biggest hits. 60 years old. Damn.

My favorite DM song is "But Not Tonight". It was kind of a background song when I first started to court K.

Lyrics and song:

Like most music for me, it evokes an emotion in time.

My first record was their Some Great Reward album. Odd that my parents let me have it, but maybe they were trying to do me some good…Been a fan since then when I was 5.

It's remarkable how they evolved along with the technology. You could play Speak And Spell or Yaz' Upsrairs At Erik's on an old Casio keyboard.

Some Great Reward is my favorite of their recordings.

It's not cool to like DM, but I couldn't care less.
