Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970

I'll say these cigars are strong. The Antano Gran Consul kicked my A@#. Its the first cigar that made made me dizzy. I ended up sitting down in the shade on the sidewalk to recover after I finished it. I'm in love. i have had many cubans and this one blows them out of the water. Does anyone think of the same?

Give 'em a little time and they mellow out quite nicely.

Even though this is my least favorite size I agree with you 100%. I personally do not let these sit any longer than to get them down to about 65% hum then I smoke them up.

No..Not at all.....Not all habanos are strong..The JdN Antano is a very strong cigar but lacks complex flavors and the finish is blech!..Cubans are so much more complex and flavorful!..No comparison at all...JdN Antanos are all strength and little or no substance...Definitely over-rated IMHO
Strength means very little to me..I've had mild Cubans (QDO Coronas for example) that are more complex in flavor than any non-Cuban cigar!

rookie said it, these are great if you're looking for a kick in the pants, but really lack subtlety and complexity. I prefer the JdN Celebracion to the Antono '70 because I think the cigar is able to reveal more flavors. Not really fair to pair these against cubans - the 'ol apples/oranges thing.

I agree..There is no fair comparison between Habanos and non

Agreed, although every once in awhile, I enjoy a good kick in the pants.
