I think you should keep it below about 21 Celsius.

don't be too concerned. I had mine at 80F for the better part of 2 weeks. Nothing I could do here at college. I just made sure the humidity was down. No bugs at all!

Beetles

They don't necessarily ever arrive. I had my smokes at 80+ degrees for years (I'm in Florida) and never had a problem. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it is pretty improbable.

Just keep an eye on them. I haven't seen anything that might suggest beetles yet, so I consider my cigars safe. Also, the nights are cooling off alot here, so I'm back at a safe 69.5 F.

Again, more misinformation.....

take a look at my post in the sticky tread here about tobacco beetles. To correct a couple posts here, the RH has little effect of egg clusters hatching, it temp related, also, at 80 degrees F if you have eggs present in any of your stock, it is a near 100% certainty you will have larvae hatching and eating there way through your sticks.

Krakatoa is correct. RH has little if anything to do this problem. If there are viable eggs, they will most likely hatch in prolonged temperatures over 75F. In fact, beetles can hatch at temperatures as low as 65F.

Krakatoa is quite correct. I now have a temp controlled cabinet but before I was using a normal cabinet and with my house getting fairly hot in the summer, temps were around the 80F mark quite often but luckily, no beetles.

By the way, Welcome to CW.

Try your best to keep the temp down, keep an eye on them, and relax- have a cigar!
