Best pop singer of all time? I think so. If not he was the best soul singer/r and b singer I've ever heard.
Argue with me, please. "Once this seemed so appealling, now it's beyond belief"

I am fond of Reddings grittier Memphis sound. God rest them both.

I agree. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Otis get his start in Macon, GA singing with the Pinetoppers?
I live in a small house with a water dish outside the front door!

Otis can still bring tears to my eyes.

Otis and Marvin were amazing. (Otis at Monterey Pop has to be one of the greatest live sets in rock history.)
But nobody makes me feel like Al Green. Just my opinion.

I've felt that Otis at Monterrey is the best live set I've heard... and his farewell "I don't wanna go but I got to..." sends shivers when you think of a plane ttrip he was going to make and not finish.

"I'veBeen Lovin' You Too Long" from that set gets to me every time I hear it.
