How high does the RH go when you first start to season a hum

When you first start to season a new humidor....does the RH start out high and then level off towards the end of the 2nd week?

I just received my humidor yesterday and checked last night and again just now. The RH is holding steady at about 83%. I did calibrate the hydrometer...it was 2% off on the salt test so I adjusted it before putting it in the humidor.

I have a small dish with distilled water sitting in the bottom of the humidor. Attached to the lid is 2 of the large rectangle beads from Viper....the humidifiers that came with it, I wet and put in the bottom next to the dish. Overkill?

I think it's safe to say it's seasoned...

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not?

It's been barely 24 hours...I take it that's not normal then.

Sorry, that was sarcasm.

Don't worry about the humidity right now. Let it sit for two or three days before even worrying about the humidity.

In the summertime, humies season themselves.

Once the RH reaches the desired level, no matter how long (or short) a time it takes, the humidor is seasoned. Take the water out now. With bead humidifiers, RH should go down pretty quickly.
