Gorecki Symphony #3

I've been listening to Symphony of Sorrowful Songs... 3 movements... 2nd movement is based on a prayer written on wall og a cell in a gestapo prison in Poland by a teenage girl

No, Mother, do not weep,
Most chaste Queen of Heaven
Support me always
Ave Maria

we are 66 years past those words being written, it strikes me that a girl would lament for support for herself rather than to strike out those who tormented her.
