Is the basement the only place that you can store your cigars?

How much freaking water do you get?

Are the coolers sitting on the floor?

Facts:

- If you used full-strength bleach, you killed off any active mold.

- You do NOT have to worry about mold spores, because every cigar made leaves the factory covered with 'em. If you get the RH right, they simply won't grow.

- The aromas of tobacco will pretty much never leave the cooler entirely. Hog hunting with Elk Twin a few weeks ago, I broke out an old 135qt Igloo Marine that I haven't had a cigar in for at least 8 years. Still smelled wonderful. So long as you can't smell chlorine from the bleach, you're fine.

second to everything doug said.

You can remove the mold, but you can never eliminate the presence of spores. If there is air, there are spores.

The cooler is designed with materials meant to minimize the mold problem anyway; your mold never penetrated the surface of the plastic.
