where would be a good place to buy spanish cedar and what thickness would you recomend for a humidor

What are you looking to do? It makes a difference in thickness and sources.
That said, I bought all of mine on ebay.

They sell it 4" W by 24" L for 3/16" thickness, which is what I used to line the inside of my humi. They also sell 1/4" and 3/8" too. |

well i have built a few chests and cabinets but now im gettting into the cigars i was thinkin about building a humi i would use it just to line so i will probably go with the 3/16 like seanohue said. seanohue did you build your own? If you did i would love to see a picture of it.

The problem buying online is that you often get odd sized pieces. The less pieces you use to line, the better it looks IMO. Look for a specialty hardwoods store close enough for you to drive to it. Tight grain is the best for cutting and routing. After much experimenting, I like 3/8" for liners and trays.
