Octoberfest

Grabbed a sixer of Sam Adams Octoberfest. Very good. Exactly what I want in one.

I'll stock up on it. The Octoberfests are getting like Christmas. It's only August and some of them are out now. They'll be gone by October.

I'll be on the lookout for Spaten now.

No kidding. It'll be high 90's here all week. This is not the season for heavier beers yet. I'll buy plenty now. It'll keep in the fridge.

I'm with you on both counts.

Yup I have never understood why the 'seasonal' beers come out waaaaaaay before thief season. Sucks. But speaking of a Marzen style beer, I'm thinking about brewing one next weekend and lagering it for a month or two. I usually just buy a production Oktoberfest keg because I dislike how long it takes to make one lol.

Thanks for the reminder

Saw it and picked up a case today.
Sam Adams seems to release it a little bit earlier every year, but you know that once it's gone it's gone, so I get my fill when I can. This is one of my favorite SA beers along with their Rebel IPA.

I saw it in the can this week but passed it up. As good as it was last year the weather is too hot for a beer as heavy as that.

Do you think Sam Adams has become a magazine? Every issue I get is dated about two months ahead. I don't want Oktoberfest in August anymore than I want Summer Ale in April.

Sam's marketing machine always makes it sound like you have to rush out and get some before it's gone.

Last year, I bought some in December, so relax.

I think the Leinie is better anyway.

Love marzen style beers, when the weather cools. Agree that mid August with its hot weather just doesn't fit.
