Should I keep the cigars in tubes when I intend to store them for some time before smoking them I am aming for 6 mo to 1 yr of storage

Thanks for the insight Since taking the cap off is O.K. I might as well take it all off. My humi has limited capacity anyway

I keep tubed cigars at the office where I do not have a humidor. I believe that is the intention of tubed cigars

Ditto. If I know I'm gonna smoke one in the next couple weeks I'll remove it from the tube and put it in a humidor to rest awhile.
(For PPG: I figure they've gotten lonely sitting in the tube for so long and would like to talk to their friends before the ritual sacrifice by fire.)

I take them out of the tube, keep the tube for transporting a single when I'm planning on a beer and a smoke.
