crackle is a degree thing... big time crackling that leaves the cigar cracked is bad - too dry. a bit of crackle is normal. dry cigars will unravel. wet cigars have other issues - draw, a metallic taste, etc.
One word of caution: you read these threads and you can worry too much about your cigars. Try to relax, cigars aren't quite as delicate as you might imagine and there is no such thing as perfect. Smoke what you like and like what you smoke.
