Strong Freshly-Cut Spanish Cedar Smell

Fella - I just cut some 1/4" Spanish Cedar boards up to line the coolerdor walls, and to also make some shelves. Everything is done and it looks bitchin', but the smell of the freshly-cut cedar is very strong! Is this tpical for all newly-cut SC? If so, how long before the smell subsides? Any ways to "hurry" it up? No glue was used BTW. I got the 1/4" SC lining from www.woodworkerssource.com. It is very nice, but potent!
