Online Cigar Auctions

Recently I have encountered a strange phenomenon in online bidding at cigar websites; people are actualy bidding more in auction than they can pruchase the same cigars for on the website. While in the past I have got good deals using the auction, bidders should compare price with other retailers and set a max before bidding more than they could otherwise buy directly. Just today I dropped out of a bid for a box of H. Upman Vintage Belicoso's when it reached $ 90.00 and bought the same cigars on another cigar site for $ 86.25. It wouldn't suprise me to see these cigars auction over $100.00; anyone else witness this phenom?
