Cigar Auctions

Looking at one of the auction sites (not the one with the smiley face). ANy box worth smoking is currently north of $100. The boxes under $100 aren't worthy of being used as mulch. I remember not too long ago of being able to score decent boxes for $50-70...Inflation?

Haven't been to any of them in quite a while. Once I reached peak capacity I stopped even checking them. I'm smoking a little less so what I have on hand will last for a long time.

I always enjoyed people bidding over retail...

Don't laugh, but the infamous "T" has had the best auctions for the past several months. I've picked up several boxes of Padron 3000's for under a C note & Some good Punches for under $2.00 each.

absolute crap is now over two bucks, auction shipping is outrageous, I may never buy another cigar again, and I still have a year or three left in storage. a box of punch at $100? Special jamaicans over 50? alts at that price?

I don't know what is going to happen. Ironically, we can't even buy a matchstick sized cigarillo for a buck or so, yet I can pick up cigarettes for fifteen cents?

I have not used C-Bid in a long time, and I've never tried another cigar auction site. Well, maybe I did use the JR auction site once or twice. But I'm not positive.

If you know what you're doing, and you're willing to let someone outbid you, and you're willing to spend some time, you can save money through the auctions. My problem has always been that I'm not willing to put in the time needed. The auction sites are not for everyone.

I know everyone who uses the auction sites claim that they save money. I bet the majority of those same people are the same ones who claim that they always come out ahead at a Casino.

I used to spend waaaay to much on C-Bid, as well. I got a lot of things that I enjoyed, and a lot that were shit. As long as I waited, I could score stuff at a decent price. The way was to not get the "must win the auction" mentality that a lot of people do.

I admit that since I go back from Saudi, my smoking has dribbled down to almost zero. I miss being able to go to a shop and find nothing but Cubans. That was all they wanted over there. Maybe some of the more expensive Dominicans, like Davidoff and such, but everything was all Cuban.

The other thing is that my knowledge of the domestic market is zero, as well. The stuff that you guys have here was not available to me over there.
