Heart is the best Led Zeppelin cover band.

Was looking for footage of Rush and Heart's R&R Hall of Fame induction, and ran across this.

Oh. My. God.

Ann and Nancy cover a lot of Zep songs, and knock them out of the park. This tribute is a grand-slam.

WOW!
I need to watch that whole concert.
but damn, I got goosebumps a couple times during that.

Nancy should have played the solo. she's so under-rated as a guitarist, and that guy munged a couple bridges...

I thought he did a pretty good job, all things considering. It's not like he was playing the greatest rock solo of the greatest rock anthem for the greatest guitar player - live - or anything... Yeah, no pressure.

Seriously though, he got the core of the solo without copying it note for note. There were a couple of seconds where it sounded like he was off the beat, but he pulled it back.

Overall, I don't think anybody but Heart could have pulled that off, mainly because of Ann. Ferchrissakes, she's 62 and still singing like that. Amazing.

I concur on that... those "Old Girls" can still rock. Though that outfit mad Nancy look like a big FAT black feather boa...

The recording is available on itunes and amazon. It's still missing one verse, but is the entire cut where the video has a minute of music edited out (pretty well, I might add, since you don't notice it).

Definitely worth a greenback.

Agree!

Slight threadjack, I recently saw a Stevie Nicks concert on the AXS channel. The old girl is 65 and still looks and sounds pretty good. She doesn't approach having pipes like Ann or the instrumental talent of Nancy though.

Woof,

Just stumbled in here. Pretty glad I did.

That is about as good a cover of Stairway as you will ever find.

Best,
J.

WOW! Fantastic! It is hard enough to do a Zep song, but to stay so true to the original is a huge task. Congrats to them for this.
