Yes, tobacco is heavily taxed in the UK (about 75% of the retail price of cigarettes is tax). Cigars are taxed differently, that is, they are taxed by (net) weight - 163.22 per kilo (or about 2.2lbs), so that doesn't really help.

You'll probably get a better feel for the price differences by making straight like-for-like comparisons, to be honest.
