I read LOTS of opinions from banjo users, and they all say..buy too cheap, and if it's too hard to learn on,you'll give up. That said, not one recommended a 2k banjo for a beginner.
The starting range for a decent banjo for a beginner…$450-$650.00 However there are a few, such as Gold Tone, that have such high reviews, that it is said, it will last the beginner for many years. Which is why I went for that model. Something to grow with, but certainly I don't need a 2K banjo at this point, if ever.
