One helluva acoustic guitar player. Is this guy still around? Thought I saw a dedication or something on Zappa's website indicating that he passed??

I agree. The word "ecclectic" doesn't do him justice.

I thought I heard something about him dying as well, but his website doesn't say anything about it.

iirc, he died in a car wreck several years ago.

saw him live a couple times and he was absurdly good.

that's a shame. Saw him at Ravinia Festival several years back and he was incredible to say the least.
