The Rising
I know this song ("The Rising") has been out for months and won 3 grammy's a few weeks back but my wife just got hooked on the album, and this song in particular...the lyrics are so powerful and hearing them throuhg her ears it's like hearing their impact again for the first time.
Anyone else out there as touched by this song as we are? Bruce is in Atantic City 2morrow...would pay anything to see him but heard he's coming back to Philly in June or July so Im gonna try to be patient. |

I am going to relisten to the entire CD after all the positive comments. I listened to it a couple times and was unmoved. My wife is damn near a Bruce groupie (she would be given the chance) so I need to get the CD anyway cause of her. We borrowed it for a couple days but we must have not listened to it close enough.

Enjoy, Mannish...the lyrics really do need to be listened to to appreciate the soul of the album.
Besides "The Rising", here are the songs that really stand out for me... Into The Fire: a survivor thanks a firefighter for giving his life to save his Empty Sky: Angry man sings of his loss of his wife Mary's Place: Sad yet hopeful song about a man holding out hope that his woman, missing for a week from 911, will still come to him...and he throws a party to celebrate her life. Wow, this song is incredible. |
