What's your sale tax rate in CA? Probably 8% or more, right? Sounds like shipping is a trade off then. And, considering you can probably get the unit for cheaper out of state, you'll probably save money, even with the shipping.

I don't know. I can't find one in my area to compare the price.

Believe me, I travel to CA at least once a year - the price is going to be higher in CA.

If I could find one here! I just bought one off ebay, a scratch & dent for $169.00 delivered. Now if it only has the small dents on the rear corners like it says and not more I'll be happy and on to my temp controled humidor! :P

That sounds like a great deal. I considered that exact model when I was thinking about getting a wine cooler. From my research, it seemed to be the best choice. I didn't end up getting one, however, and went with an Aristocrat Mini instead. Living in Syracuse, I really didn't need the cooling benefit and, for my purposes, the Mini was the best option.

I was also look at a Aristocrat, but I'm in the high desert and have my humidors in a closet and I still get temp above 70 deg. in the summer with the A/C. This appears to be the most cost effective way of controling the temp & RH. I'm going to follow Aarons set up for mine

Sounds like a good plan. Post some pics when you get it all set up.

I ordered one off the internet in November, it came unusably damaged. Took a month to get the replacement which came damaged (slightly dented). I decided not to reject it on account of a few dents, but after a week I determined that the thermostat did not work because it won't go above 52 degrees. I have to return it and I won't have them send another. Too much trouble and time to keep dealing with damaged internet goods.
