If a humidor is left undisturbed & the fan doesn't come on, the RH will eventually stratify with the highest RH at the bottom--at least in cabinet humidors. In desk tops I have always taken a bit more liberty in positioning the CO depending on height of the humidor & numbers of trays. I generally build a mount to position the CO directly under the top tray with a circular opening in the tray to ensure good intake & a clear space between trays for output. If the top tray is undersized at bit, it seems to work fairly uniformly. Not sure it makes any difference-above or below. If the trays have good airspace around them, things should end up within a point or so. If they are too snug a fit, you may need to leave some open space or add a bit of supplimental humidification on the dry side. Cheers, Bob Staebell |
