Credo question

I've got a couple of desktop humidors and still use credos with distilled water for humidification. Sooner or latter I will change, but as I hate change, I could use some suggestions in the meantime.

Does anyone have some good techniques for recharging dry ones. (I am sure they are dry as they feel light and the humidity level has dropped). I currently place them in a bowl and poor water over them. Once some water has soaked in, I shake off excess, and return to humidor. This seems to work OK, but is there a better way?

Thanks for any useful advice,
