A little home-hobby with climmax beads....

I recently started to use empty tubos for ym climmax media in desktops.

I first drilled numerous holes in the tubos and filled them up with beads, leaving about 1/3 of an inch empty. I then used the open nd of the tubo to 'punch' a perfect sized plug from a thin piece of floral foam and jammed that in there, trimming the excess (keeps the beads from rattling around) Seem to be working pretty good and I save a few bucks not buying Climmax tubes and save space not having to put a small container in them

I have one with both a passive floral foam type device and an RyJ tubo full of beads, holding a perfect 65% (65% beads, obfiously).

Why use both floral foam AND beads? No idea!

I guess I don't trust the floral foam alone!

I'm currently seasoning another Desk top with just a Tubo full of beads, hope that works OK since its a small desktop and Id like to be able to maximize my storage space.
